Bedfords Park. Romford

The Essex Wildlife Trust Nature Discovery Visitor Centre at Bedfords Park is lovely. There is a cafe serving hot and cold food and shop with brilliant gifts. Inside the centre are toilets (including accessible and baby change). The local artwork on display throughout the centre is very impressive. There are also views across Essex and London from outside the visitor centre. There is plenty of open space and woodland areas for walking.

Next to the centre is the Walled Gardens. Currently open Tuesdays and Thursdays, the gardens are maintained by volunteers. You can buy seasonal flowers and produce grown at the garden.

The playground at this park is great! There is balancing equipment and a large wooden climbing frame. There is also a small maze, baby swings and a nest swing. There are plenty of things to climb on and jump off. The playground is not enclosed. Lots of space around the playground for picnics and running around.

The friendly deers are a real highlight of the park. The deers are fenced off but come right up to the fencing.

The park is dog friendly except for the playground area.

Ardleigh Millennium Green

Ardleigh Millenium Green is home to a great children's playground. Ardleigh Millenium Green is also next to the mainline railway, so a great playground to head to if your child is a train enthusiast.
