Belfairs Woods are a brilliant Essex Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve. There is plenty of amazing ancient woodland to explore! Children will love the woodland adventure playground, den building and splashing in the stream within the woods. The nature reserve is also home to a visitor centre with cafe and a country pub.

🅿️ Parking - Where to park at Belfairs Woods
There are two car parks at Belfairs Woodlands, both have free car parking. Both car parks are accessed via Eastwood Road North. There are accessible car parking spaces at the car park closest to the visitor centre, which is the smallest car park of the two. The car parks here get busy on weekends so it is worth nothing that T=there is also unrestricted on street parking on Eastwood Road North.
What playground equipment is there at Belfairs Woods?
There is a woodland adventure playground. The playground at Belfairs is located along the path between both car parks, close to the visitor centre.
The play area mainly consists of a large, linked wooden climbing frame structure set within the woods. The climbing frame has a variety of climbs and ends with a slide. It is most appropriate for child preschool age and older due to the height of the climbing frame. There is also some balancing equipment and a swing.
The Woods at Belfairs
The woods at Belfairs are are great place to explore. There are plenty of dens and muddy puddles at Belfairs. There is also a wooden woodland creature sculpture trail that runs throughout the woods. You can pick up a map from the visitor centre.
What else is there to do at Belfairs Woods?
Belfairs is home to a golf course, which runs throughout sections of the woods - Belfairs Golf Course (Southend Council).
Horse Riding at Belfairs
Belfairs Riding Club can be found at Belfairs Woods. The riding school and stables are next to the larger car park. You can find out more on the Belfairs Riding Club website.
Where to eat and drink at Belfairs Woods
There is a visitor centre with shop and cafe at Belfairs Woods. The cafe serves a breakfast and lunch menu - mainly sandwiches, soups, jacket potatoes and some hot meals. Are there toilets at Belfairs Woods?
There are toilet facilities within the visitor centre at Belfairs Woods. There are baby change and accessible toilets within the visitor centre. There are public toilets within the car park closest to the horse riding school.
What is on at Belfairs Woodland Centre?
There are lots of events held at Belfairs Woodlands Centre. There are regular events by the Essex Wildlife Trust education team including nature tots, half term holiday events, home education groups and drop off days. CLICK HERE to browse events via the Essex Wildlife Trust website.
