This small playground is perfect for toddlers. There are unique and interesting play equipment including a scoop pulley system and lots of educational interactive equipment including facial features and a clock. The car park is conveniently located next to the playground. Adventurous toddlers will enjoy exploring the nearby Gunners Park Nature Reserve too.

This playground is in the Shoebury Garrison. The area is full of military architecture and history.
The playground is located next to the restored Cart and Wagon Shed, Heritage Centre. Inside the Cart and Wagon Shed is Serendity Cafe (a community interest company), toilets and some wartime memorabilia. I understand there are plans to showcase more local historical artifacts in the future.
What equipment is at Gunners Park Toddler Playground
The playground is most suitable for smaller children up to school age. There are swings, a merry-go-round, toddler climbing frames with slides, ride on equipment and pulleys. The equipment is interesting, bright and in good condition. It is enclosed and there are benches and picnic benches inside the playground.
Where to eat and drink at Gunners Park Playground
Serendipity Cafe! This cafe is a brilliant addition to the area. It serves hot and cold drinks, amazing cakes, breakfast, lunch and meals. We've visited this cafe numerous times and the service is consistently great. There are highchairs and toddler plates and cutlery. There is also a wide range of gluten free options and several alternative milks. The cafe also has a dog friendly section.

There are no public toilets at Gunners Park Playground. There are toilets including accessible toilets and baby change inside Serendipity Cafe.
Southend Beaches
The beach is a 30 seconds walk away from the playground. You cannot access the beach directly from here as it is ministry of defence land. It is a short walk either way to the beach. We love East Beach with is a five minute walk East along the sea wall and through the Garrison Estate. Or head West along Gunners Park.
