The shop sells deli goods, gifts and a small selection of children's toys and books.
đFood at Mersea Barns
The food was fantastic. Everyone's breakfast was great, a special mention for the French toast. There is also a children's lunch menu. Picnic boxes from ÂŁ5.50 and hot meals from ÂŁ7.50. The coffee was also great.

The service was... mixed. That being said our waitress was super friendly and gave good service.
đ Play Area at Mersea Barns
The play area is sand based. There are a number of balancing beams, logs and ropes. Good for balancing and also good for playing with vehicles. There were a few diggers and spades available to play with. There is also a sand table. It's easy to keep an eye on the children from the seating area.
There is a grassy space next to the sandpit area.
đ¨ Messy Play at Mersea Barns
There is also a covered Messy Play space with a messy kitchen, dino world and playdoh station at Mersea Barns. We didn't try out the messy play so I can't comment on it. Children ÂŁ6.50, Adults ÂŁ2
Eating out with kids is hard! Kid-friendly places often don't have great food. The food and coffee were so good at Mersea Barns, making it a Parks of Essex recommendation.
