Join Essex Wildlife Trust for a cozy story in the wood reading everyone’s favourite, Superworm! Bring a cuddly teddy and a snack to help you enjoy the book and then take part in some fun Superworm themed activities. Suitable for ages 18 months to 5 years. £5 per child


Flatford Wildlife Garden, CO7 6UL

9th August, 11am - 1pm

Make a butterfly feeder and leaf print onto fabric to make a flag. Play in the mud kitchen, den build and make a clay creature. Complete a wildlife trail and hunt for bugs in our meadow. Take the chance to practise your fire-lighting skills and toast marshmallows over the campfire to make a delicious smore. £11 non-members, £10 members


10 Years on Celebrating the Olympics

Re-live olynpic events on the big screen, guided rides, taster rides, pump track challenge and walking trails. Free


Pond Dipping

Roding Valley Meadows Nature Reserve Grange Farm Centre, IG7 6DP

Use special pond dipping nets to go fishing and discover the creatures living deep inside the pond. How many different creatures will you catch. £5 per child


Bug Hunting

Ingrebourne, RM12 6TS, 10am - 11am, 11.30pm - 12.30pm

Grab a magnifying glass, ID chart and net for our quest to discover the fascinating creatures that live in the woods and meadow. £5 per child

You'll discover a great range of local and regional bands performing completely free concerts in Castle Park's beautiful Victorian Bandstand on selected Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer. Free

13th August, 9.30am -12.00pm. Two sessions.

Are your children passionate about the environment, anxious about climate change and/ or full of ideas and want to make a difference? For families and children aged 7+ to discuss climate change and what it might mean for you and Essex as a place. Free
