This Forestry England park has so much going on and is great for families. There is a brand new inclusive play area opening at Thames Chase on 16th February 2025! The cafe and visitor centre with toilets are conveniently located close to the playground. There are also walking and cycle trails through the woods and meadows.
There are regular trails at this Essex park, previous trails include the Zog Trail and the Gruffalo Party Trail. We are looking forward to seeing future trails!

Thames Chase Forest Centre Opening Hours
The visitor centre at Thames Chase is open 10am-5pm weekdays and weekends (10-4pm in the winter from Oct 31st).
Thames Chase Forest Centre Cafe
The Forest Centre Tea Room is open from 10am until 4pm (closes at 3pm between November and late March.
Toilets at Thames Chase
There are toilets located inside the visitor centre. There are accessible toilets and baby change facilities.
🚲 Cycle Hire at Thames Chase
The cycle trails at Thames Chase are mostly flat. Seasonable cycle hire (April to September) is available from Thames Chase Forest Centre. Cycle hire at Thames Chase is available on weekends and weekdays during the school holidays, between 10.30am and 4pm. There is a good variety of accessible hire including adapted trikes and quads for wheelchair users
