Thameside Nature Discovery Centre, Stanford-Le-Hope, SS17 0RN

Follow the self-led trail.Drop into the Nature Discovery Centre anytime between 10am - 4pm. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Maps will be provided on entry and a small prize can be claimed at the end.

Each day of the bank holiday will see a range of musical entertainment at the Priory Park bandstand.

Thursday 2nd - Jubilee Festival of Brass will run from between 1-6pm.

Friday 3rd - The Famous Potatoes will perform from 3-4.30pm

Saturday 4th - Community Choir Southend Vox between 3-4.30pm

Sunday 5th - The Show Choir from 3-4.30pm

Discover, play and explore before toasting a snack on the fire. Suitable for children aged 3 - 10.

Sunday 5th June 2022, 10am-12pm

Search for brilliant bugs in the grass using grass nets and in the woods using pots and sieves. Make your own hanging bug hotel to take home for your garden. This is an event for 5-10 year olds.

A walk around the lagoons and grasslands to find some of the many birds breeding on Wallasea taking advantage of the varied habitats provided.

Wednesday 22nd June 2022, 7pm - 9pm

Walk led by two local experts who know the heath and its heathland flora well, and will help find many different species.

Saturday 25 June 2022, 10am - 12pm

Join Essex Wildlife Trust in the woods for Forest Fun for Neurodiverse children (Autism, ADHD, Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, OCD, Anxiety, etc.). Learn some bushcraft skills, do some natural arts and crafts, and go for a nature walk all with the guidance of the Outdoor Learning Officer on site.

For neorodiverse children only from ages 5-16.

£7 per child

Saturday 25th June 2022 - 10:30am - 5:00pm Essex Book Festival presents Midsummer Madness at Cressing Temple Barns, as part of the Summer of Culture 2022. Join Essex Book Festival for a magical day of author events (for the young and the young at heart), dragons, fairies, storytelling, live music and theatre, den-building and a mud-kitchen.
